I Don't Do Ordinary

Recently while at the CALL in Montgomery, Alabama, I was praying and telling the Lord, “I am so ordinary. How is it that You have me taken me many places in ministry, allowed me to sit and pray along with such strong intercessors, and to learn about You?”

I felt His Spirit begin to speak within me, “Lisa, you ask Me to use you, help you be a piece of clay that I can mold and work through, but then you stop me and only let Me go so far. You ask ‘why me’ of your God…Why not you, Lisa? If you ask Me to use you, LET ME. Hear ME on this: I DON’T do ordinary”.

Next is silence...time to really comprehend that. Next is…tears. Next, the realization that anything God makes is not ordinary, but extra ordinary.

You---no matter where you are, what you are doing, what is wrong in your life, you matter greatly to Him who distinctly created you and with divine purpose. We shouldn’t take pride in this, but gratitude, He doesn’t think any of us are ordinary.

About this same time, I remembered how I used to think John 20: 7 and 20 were sort of arrogant of John, describing himself as “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” The Lord had previously led me on this one too. He desires we all take to heart how accurate this description of John was then and now is of ourselves! John described himself with the highest account possible. You and I must join him: we are the disciples whom Jesus loves! AGAPE!
